Just had a neighbor drive me down to Los Angeles for a post-op check in with my surgeon. Staples are removed, x-rays show everything in place...... Reverse total shoulder replacement switches the joint’s ball and socket—placing a metal ball on the shoulder blade and a plastic cup on the humerus—so the deltoid can lift the arm when the rotator cuff is irreparably torn.

I'll be a month or two before fully back at work, but I am brave and persistent and will overcome this.

Meanwhile the bills do not pause: studio rent, feed for the Irish wolfhounds, mules, and the rest of the menagerie, and ordinary living costs. Income from the tattoo studio is gone until I have the arm back.
