Almost a month out from reverse shoulder replacement and I’m healing well. Visiting Nurses have been gracious angels, and I’m getting back the independence I’m used to. I’m off the pain meds. Driving is next.
What has not paused: studio rent, feed for the Irish wolfhounds, the mules, and the rest of the menagerie, plus ordinary living costs. Tattoo income is gone until I have the arm back. This is a furlough, not retirement.
The GoFundMe has taken the sharpest edge off — enough to keep the studio lease paid and the animals fed for a stretch. It is not all the way there. If you have ever wanted to be a patron of the arts, a donation now will keep me solvent until I can work again.
If a tattoo from me has been on your list, I’d love to design it now and book you for a date about a month out. Having work on the calendar gives me purpose while I rehab.
Thank you to everyone who has already given, especially clients who wrote how much they appreciate the tattoos I have done for them over the years. That makes me proud.
