After 5 sessions spread out over 2 years this 6'8" gentle giant client from Hawaii is finally finished with a full continuous knotwork sleeve. We had to squeeze sessions into his trips to the Mainland, and today we added the very top of the arm and called it done. Usually when I am asked to do a sleeve this extensive there is a compromise somewhere, an old sentimental bit that we have to go around. But with this man I had a clean slate and a clear direction. He tells me he gets praise and acceptance from the Hawaiians, for having tattoo art as dynamic as theirs but from his own Celtic culture. "Shaka brah!"
