I am especially fond of mules, and participate in Facebook groups with other mule enthusiasts. One thing the mule community does is hold “Leg Up” auctions when someone falls on hard times and needs help. In 2018 I was gravely injured and spent a month in the hospital, and was given enough money by a charity auction and a “Go Fund Me” to pay the tattoo studio rent until I could return to work. I will be forever grateful. As a way to show gratitude I donate animal portraits to help auctions. These portraits were mostly done for the high bidders in online help auctions, and some on direct commission. I work from a photograph sent to me by the animal’s human, and enjoy trying to capture their unique spirit. I am available for commission for similar, either as pen and ink art or to be a tattoo.
