The valknut symbol of three interlocked triangles is the enigmatic ancient Nordic symbol for slain warriors. Here it is dotted onto a shield with two battle axes hung on it, and will serve as a symbol of strength for the man who at this juncture in his life is stepping forth with courage to new challenges.

He asked my esteemed colleague Sting, of Arizona, to draw up the pattern for him, and In a first-ever collaboration I did the actual tattoo. The result will keep him mindful as he proceeds healthier through life.
