In the ancient traditions Epona the white horse Goddess represented the spirit of the land, and the force with which the High King was united in rule. This horse in this knotwork is taken from a carving on an ancient stone standing in a graveyard outside Inverurie, Scotland. This is a redrawn interpretation from 100 years ago by the esteemed Celtic scholar George Bain
