Three Loves Celtic Tattoo Design

A sentimental creation, this tattoo ranks as the saddest one in my career, but also as a heartfelt lesson about how important my work can be. The pink cat represents the family's little daughter, the blue dog their son, and the grey angel dog with a wing is the baby son who died very young. All the children represented together, the living and the one in heaven; in the hearts and on the arms of the loving parents.

Passiflora - Passion Flower Tattoo Design

My personal favorite flower, this is the ultimate spaceship of the floral kingdom. Improbable and beyond surreal, this variety is called alata-caerula and covers my home's front door. Metaphoric for human romantic passion, the fact that the incredible flowers only last one day makes them all the more precious.

Lord of the Rings Medly Tattoo Design

This client asked for Lord of the Rings imagery united in one tattoo: the white tree of Gondor coming out of the hilt of Narsil with the Elvish ring script around it. Her wish was my command.

Father and Son matching Celtic Cross tattoos

This father and son duo from Florida now have matching tattoos! I tattooed the Dad decades ago, and now that his Son has come of age the entire family make a trek to the Left Coast for the Son to get Dad's tattoo. Until they got here yesterday I dreaded that it might be a memorial, but NO... there they both were! We copied the same pattern I drew up for the Dad all those years ago, just slightly bigger, fitting the taller Son, and then I recolored the sacred heart and flames on Dad's version, still a good tattoo but looking weathered. Interactions like this, and the pride I feel when someone brings a second generation to me, really make the work a joy. I asked special permission to have their faces show online.
