A most unusual placement for a Celtic band! Today a seventy year old man got the Band of Brothers pattern in honor of his sibling who has passed away, but asked for it to be vertical on his leg. I think I've done a vertical band maybe 3 times in my tattoo career. He said he liked the idea that you see the whole pattern, not just a small section of it as you would if it wrapped the limb.

Today a local surfer and yoga enthusiast chose a true piece of history for her tattoo. This pattern is from a decorated bronze disc that was discovered at Loughan Island, in the river Bann, County Derry, Ireland. As a tattoo design it is a beautifully symmetric set of spirals, representing the triple Goddess and triplicate nature of Celtic religion.
