Band of Brothers Leg Memorial Tattoo Design

A most unusual placement for a Celtic band! Today a seventy year old man got the Band of Brothers pattern in honor of his sibling who has passed away, but asked for it to be vertical on his leg. I think I've done a vertical band maybe 3 times in my tattoo career. He said he liked the idea that you see the whole pattern, not just a small section of it as you would if it wrapped the limb.

Loughan Island Bronze Disc

Today a local surfer and yoga enthusiast chose a true piece of history for her tattoo. This pattern is from a decorated bronze disc that was discovered at Loughan Island, in the river Bann, County Derry, Ireland. As a tattoo design it is a beautifully symmetric set of spirals, representing the triple Goddess and triplicate nature of Celtic religion. Simple, timeless, bringing the art of the past to life in skin. It also had the added benefit that by going on top of varicose veins on her leg, now they are invisible and she has art instead. Goddess Spirals Tattoo Design

Today a septuagenarian comparative religions educator came in for this pattern of a triskelion in Pictish spirals as a mark of the Goddess. Single, double, and triple Pictish spirals surround a central triskelion in this pattern that can fit any body part, alone or behind another tattoo to add a framing energetic background.
