Pictish Drinking Equestrian

A Pictish equestrian drinking while riding.....a carving found on the 8th c Bullion Stone from Angus, Scotland, a jolly image that I installed on a fellow member of Clan Campbell today. This image is unique among the Pictish stones, depicting a bald, bearded man on a weary horse, carrying a shield, and drinking from a huge horn with a bird's head terminal. To give the tattoo a base I added a section of Pictish key patterning for the horse to climb up.

Celtic Monarch Butterfly Tattoo Design

Today an old grammar school pal of mine came in for a second tattoo, a commissioned concept of a Celtic monarch butterfly. She specifically asked me to retain the distinctive dots on the edges of the wings, that make a monarch so instantly recognizable. Keeping them in, I then filed the interior with a knotwork pattern.

Heart on My Sleeve Celtic Tattoo Design

This single father is undeterred by unsuccessful romance,  he wants to show the world that he wears his heart on his sleeve, and is again ready for love.

This anatomically correct heart is woven into an oval of Celtic knotwork for a complete presentation as a cohesive tattoo.
