MacDonald Clanranald Badge Tattoo

Today a woman from Australia came to get her Scottish Clan badge. We united the Clan Donald heraldic form of the "cross crosslet fitchee gules" with the badge, and created something quite unique and striking. Back in OZ she drives a massive truck at the largest iron ore mine in the world, and now she has a bold tattoo that can stand up to the scrutiny of the coworkers! Plus a tale to tell of the tattoo pilgrimage she made to acquire it.

Paternal Parrot Tattoo Colored and Completed

Today I colored a parrot which we began earlier this year, and it is a now a match with with the one I did on this lad's father decades ago. Dividing the sessions to allow for healing is often a key to a better result, especially with something as solidly colored as this. And having the returning patronage, making tattooing a family affair, is a good testimonial of my persistent efforts!

Celtic 'LeoBoros' Tattoo

Today a wedding anniversary brought this returning client back with the intention to frame and expand the piece I did five years ago. Now a Celtic lion head completes an ouroboros around his four-leaf-clover, The serpent eating its own tail, alchemical symbol of re-creation and eternal return, in a new form.

Luna Wave Tattoo Redux

Today a client who got this La Tene style anklet 5 years ago came back to have it refreshed and embellished. She wanted to brighten it up, and add spiraling elements that would make it conform more to the foot's shape. Additionally, to make it a dedication for her brother we added a heart with his initials in it. Often reworking an old tattoo can give it new life, especially if the wearer has had a few years to imagine it different.
