Celtic Dolphin Tattoo

A leaping Celtic knotwork dolphin graces the inner ankle of a client who chose to pair it with a La Tene band. The rolling wave of the band perfectly complements the cetacean, and the color used in the background under the dolphin's weaves is repeated as finial balls in the band, drawing the blue around to the outside of the band, where the tattoo appears to be only a jewelry anklet.

Double Triple Loop Celtic Band Tattoos

One of my favorite bands, this ancient pattern has what looks like a triangular set of loops in either direction that draw in the eye. This ambitious client traveled a long distance and insisted on TWO bands in one day, so we scaled the size up and down for the upper arm and forearm. Any band is a technical challenge, but making two that matched and complemented each other was a full day's work!

Clan Matheson Badge Heraldic Tattoo

Clan badges unite the wearer with their heritage, and this proud member of Clan Matheson chose to replace a traditional Latin motto with the names of his children. In this way he celebrates both the past and the family representing the future.

Celtic Motherhood Knot with Shamrock

A heart within a heart, representing the way a mother's love encircles and protects her child. Here in a custom adaptation, entwined with growing vines, representing the way she loves her connection with her children and how they grow inside her and then beside her. The bond of love expressed in a permanent visual way.
