Celtic Zoomorphic Chest Plate Tattoo - left side

Today's tattoo is the completion of a project that began with the right side, featuring an eagle, dog and eel, and today added a peacock, lion, and eel. The shapes are inspired by the Japanese chest piece tattoos, that now unite to form a graceful and attractive silhouette. The client had specific requests for animals symbolically important to him that were a challenge to bring to life.

The blog post about the first session, the right side, can be viewed here: http://www.luckyfish.com/blog/celtic-zoomorphic-chest-plate-tattoo

Celtic 'Bird of Paradise' Tattoo

Today a returning client wearing many individual Celtic animals I did years ago finally returned to begin filling all the empty places. Funny how when you get a lot of tattoos you tend to see the empty bits the most, and eventually yearn to make a "full sleeve." So we designed a Celtic bird that swoops a wing up the back of the arm, swoops a reverse wave tail down it, and has a focused gaze on the same point as the previous Salmon of Knowledge and MerMule. We also made plans for more....... watch for future blog posts!

Celtic 'Hero' Knotwork Forearm Sleeve Tattoo

The other day I finished up a forearm half sleeve on one of our nation's quiet heroes, a man who is on the front lines of the war against drugs and violence in the mean streets of the inner city. The boldness of the Celtic knot work gives him a powerful gauntlet of intricate weaves with the star pattern conforming to the musculature. It is an adaptation of the pattern shown below that was originally designed for a leg. An interesting exercise, to see the same design and how it can be morphed to cover different body parts.

Tattoo Condom Contest!

I was recently commissioned to design several samples of art that could be printed on Condoms!  The Graphic Armor company is holding a ‘Tattoo Condom Design Contest’ and needed some samples to inspire other tattoo artists to enter.

My designs are being used as promotional material for the contest, but they have also been officially entered.  If you are so inclined, please head on over to:

and vote for my celtic “Arrow” design (my favorite of the three).
