Scottish Lion
Although the cross of St Andrew, the Saltire, is the official flag of the Scots, the lion rampant is the more beloved unofficial flag. This symbol of national pride flies proudly and uncompromisingly over the Kingdom of Scotland. I searched archival sources extensively to find many versions and then combined what I thought were the best elements of each into this pattern.

The Iron Wolf
The Iron Wolf is the symbol of Vilnius, Lithuania. The legend tells of a mighty medievial king who became separated from his men while hunting and spent the night alone on a mountaintop. He dreamed that he was told if he built his fortress on that hill it would be as strong as a wolf in iron armour. Vilnius is still the capital city.

The more science learns about the octopus the closer we come to the uncomfortable knowledge that they may in fact be almost as smart as us! Just think how they can camoflage themselves.... we have to get tattoos to look anywhere near as interesting!
